Mecha Choice is a luck-based Free-for-All minigame featured in Mario Party 9. The name is a pun on "make a choice." This minigame's gameplay is similar to that of Risky Railway from Wii Party, a minigame from another game created by NDcube.

Players are being chased by Mecha Koopas, and must choose doors they think do not lead to dead ends. They use the a button, 1 button, or 2 button to pick a door, and can change their minds as many times during the time limit as they want. For each set of three doors, one is a dead end, and any players who choose that door are eliminated. The last player remaining is the winner. Ties will occur only if all remaining players are eliminated at the same dead end.
Players are being pursued by Mechakoopas and must choose one of three doors. They use wii, wii, or wii to pick a door, and they can change their minds as many times as they want until the time limit expires. For each set of three doors, one is a trap with more Mechakoopas waiting while some of the other Mechakoopas enter, and any players who choose that door (or who do not choose any door before time is up) are eliminated. The last player remaining is the winner. Ties will occur only if either all remaining players are eliminated at the same dead end or more than one player makes it successfully through five rounds.

Players who do not choose a door within the time limit automatically get a lower ranking than the players who are about to reach a dead end. Additionally, if all the players pick a dead end, they will all get first place. If none of the players pick a door within the time limit, they will all get last place.

Ending
If only one player is left before five rounds are completed, they strike a victory pose in the middle of the hall. If one or more players make it through five rounds without picking any dead ends, a single door in the back of the room opens into whiteness, which the leftover players enter after striking their poses.
The player enters the hall alone and strikes a victory pose.
