The '''Mario Toy Company''' is a company that manufactures and sells [[Mini Mario (toy)|Mini-Mario]] toys in the ''[[Mario vs. Donkey Kong (series)|Mario vs. Donkey Kong]]'' series. In later entries in the series, the company is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of various theme parks, notably [[Super Mini Mario World]] and [[Mini Land Theme Park]]. It is founded by Mario according to the instruction manual for ''Mario vs. Donkey Kong''.<ref name="engmanual">{{cite|title=''Mario vs. Donkey Kong'' Europe instruction booklet|page=4|date=2004|publisher=Nintendo of Europe|language=en-gb}}</ref> Oftentimes, its operations are intercepted by [[Donkey Kong]] due to varying motives, like stealing the Mini-Mario toys for himself.

==Game appearances==

In ''[[Mario vs. Donkey Kong]]'' and its [[Nintendo Switch]] [[Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Nintendo Switch)|remake]], [[Donkey Kong]] tries to purchase a Mini-Mario toy after seeing a commercial for the toys on television. However, all the stores are sold out of Mini-Mario toys. Due to his impatience for waiting for the next shipment<ref name="engmanual"/>, Donkey Kong travels to the company's factory and steals all of the Mini-Mario toys he can get his hands on.

The first world is also named [[Mario Toy Company]], although it mostly takes place in the outdoors surrounding the company's main building, which is visible in the background in all regular levels ([[Level 1-1 (Mario vs. Donkey Kong)|Level 1-1]] only in the remake). Despite this, [[Level 1-mm]] and [[Level 1-DK]] presumably take place in the company's warehouse. In the plus worlds, the first world, [[Mario Toy Factory]], instead takes place in the company's Mini-Mario production line.

In the remake, the Mario Toy Company building has received a drastic redesign, featuring prominent red rooftops, arches, and an exterior made out of brick. It also has a redesigned logo that is modeled after the modern ''Super Mario'' series [[List of fonts|font]], whereas generic text was used in the GBA version. The giant "M" emblem on the top of the building was removed, as it now situates near the entrance door instead.

The Mario Toy Company runs Mini-Land (also known as Mini Land Theme Park in the [[Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move|succeeding installment]]), the main setting of ''[[Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!]]''. The success of Mini Land Theme Park in the previous installment has led to the Mario Toy Company hosting the [[Mini Toy Carnival]] in ''[[Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move]]''. This particular detail is mentioned in the British English listing for the game on the Nintendo eShop, as well as the game's electronic manual.
