MAX UP Hearts return in ''[[Paper Mario: The Origami King]]'' under their current name. Like in ''Sticker Star'', they can now be found around the world in various locations. Each one increases Mario's maximum HP by five, ten, or twenty. Collecting hearts also increases the amount of damage Mario's attacks and First Strikes do. Collecting all hearts raises Mario's HP to a maximum of 200 (not counting HP boosts from [[Heart Plus]] accessories). [[Love Toad]], whom Mario rescues in [[Shogun Studios]], returns to [[Toad Town]], and can tell him of the locations of any MAX UP Hearts that were missed.

A Collectible Treasure of MAX UP Heart (No. 38) can be found inside the [[Water Vellumental Shrine]].
