| The '''Lucky Seven''' is a special item that first appeared in ''[[Mario Kart 7]]''. It is depicted as a red number "7", matching the one from the game's logo. The name originates from a symbol on slot machines, where three sevens results in a jackpot. Though the Lucky Seven does not appear in ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'', the game features a similar type of item instead, [[Crazy Eight]], which gives the same seven items as well as a [[coin]]. | | The '''Lucky 7''' is a special item that appears in ''[[Mario Kart 7]]''. | The Lucky Seven is an item in ''Mario Kart 7''. Racers in approximately fourth to sixth place can receive them from [[Item Box]]es, and the Lucky Seven has a rarity on par with the [[Spiny Shell (blue)|Spiny Shell]]. When used, seven items appear surrounding the racer's [[kart]] rotating similarly to the Triple [[Green Shell|Green]] or [[Red Shell]]s. The racer can then use them one by one; the item used is the one closest to the front of the kart. The Lucky Seven contains the following items; a [[Banana]], a [[Green Shell]], a [[Red Shell]], a [[Mushroom]], a [[Super Star|Star]], a [[Blooper]], and a [[Bob-omb]]. If the item settings in VS or Battle modes are set to Shells Only, Bananas Only, Mushrooms Only, or Bob-ombs Only, then all seven items will be the dominant item. If Shells Only is on, the player will have seven Red Shells. Like Triple Green or Red Shells, opposing racers that get too close are hit by the circling items. A Banana or Shell simply hits the opponent, Mushrooms or Stars boost opponents, and a Bob-omb explodes and takes out any items that a racer had yet to use. A collision with the Blooper will put a single splotch of ink on the opponent's screen. In normal racing, only players can obtain the Lucky Seven, not CPUs, though in other item settings in VS or Battle Mode, CPUs can obtain the Lucky Seven. | | The Lucky 7 first debuted in ''Mario Kart 7''. It is one of the items found in the [[Item Box]]es. When used, seven items will appear surrounding the racer's kart by rotating similar to the Triple [[Green Shell|Green]] or [[Red Shell|Red]] Shells. The racer can then use them one by one when the item is in front of the [[player]]<ref>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zUj3KzMJhU&feature=feedu</ref>. The items that the racer gets may vary. The player can obtain, for example, [[Green Shell]]s, [[Red Shell]]s, [[Banana]]s, [[Mushroom]]s, [[Star]]s, [[Blooper]], or [[Bob-omb]]s. The Lucky 7 only generates items that are inside other item boxes. |

| | Racers that come closer to the driver with the items of the Lucky 7 can be hit by the Shells or the Bananas. However, the item has a drawback in that if one of the racer's opponents drives into a Bob-omb or Star, the player will suffer from the negative effects of the Bob-omb or an opponent can take the effect of the star away from the player.<ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smzPV4k_J-8 <nowiki>[MK7]</nowiki> Lucky 7 Item Gone Wrong]</ref> |

| The Lucky Seven is an item in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''. A difference from before is that the Star has been replaced by the [[Super Horn]]. It is the [[Special Item (Mario Kart series)|special item]] of [[King Boo]], [[Pauline]], [[Princess Daisy|Daisy (Holiday Cheer)]], [[Luigi|Luigi (Classic)]], [[Mario|Mario (Chef)]], [[Mario|Mario (Halloween)]], [[Luigi|Luigi (Painter)]], [[Princess Peach|Peach (Happi)]], [[Mario|Mario (Satellaview)]], [[Poochy]], [[Nabbit]], [[Lakitu (Mario Kart referee)|Lakitu (Party Time)]], [[Chargin' Chuck]], [[Exploring Shy Guy|Light-blue Shy Guy (Explorer)]] and the [[Mii|Silver, King Boo, Nabbit and Santa Mii Racing Suits]]. This time, all the items are used in rapid succession in a specific order (Red Shell, Banana, Green Shell, Bob-omb, Super Horn, Mushroom, and Blooper), rather than one at a time by the player. The driver will also perform a [[trick]] animation. When Lucky Seven+ is active, three [[coin]]s are added to the mix of items.

| ==Trivia==
| |
| *If the Lucky Seven is active underwater, the Blooper will leave a trail of ink bubbles.
| |
| *The image in the roulette retains the checkerboard background in ''7'', being the only item to have a background of its own in the roulette.
| |
| *When the Lucky Seven is received, it plays the sound effect heard when receiving a powerful item like a [[Super Star|Star]] in ''[[Mario Kart DS]]'' or a special item in ''Mario Kart Tour''.
| |
| **There exist some [[List of Mario Kart 8 pre-release and unused content|unused leftovers]] for the Lucky Seven, [[Fake Item Box]], and [[Super Leaf]] in the files of ''[[Mario Kart 8]]''.
