After taking on the trouble, Mario must travel to [[Keelhaul Key]], make his way to a storeroom in [[Pirate's Grotto]], and talk to Goom Goom with [[Goombella]] present. Goom Goom proclaims his love for Goombella and present her with [[Couple's Cake]], only for Goombella to declare that she is going out with Mario. Assuming that Mario is Goombella's boyfriend, Goom Goom gives up the cake before leaving. Goombella picks up the cake, which she gives to Mario as a reward for dealing with Goom Goom, and the trouble is solved. If Mario talks to Goom Goom with a partner other than Goombella, Goom Goom will simply reject that partner.
