Krimps are short, purple Kremling enemies described as "Kremdogs." They appear only in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. Krimps are common enemies in both games, and they are the successor to Klaptraps from Donkey Kong Country and Klampons from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Like their predecessors, Krimps walk on fours and have a set of large, sharp teeth they constantly chomp.
History
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Krimps are vulnerable from the back (unlike Klampons and Klaptraps) and on the top. The Kongs can quickly defeat a Krimp by either jumping onto it or throwing a barrel at it. Dixie Kong or Kiddy Kong can also defeat Krimp by rolling into it from behind; they cannot roll into Krimp from the front, else it bites them. Some Krimps move faster than others, especially in later levels. When defeated in cascade levels, Krimps make a lower-pitched variation of Re-Koil's cry, compared to the normal cry that originally belonged to Krusha, Rambi, and King K. Rool. Their cry also echoes when defeated in those levels. A Krimp also appears on the "Bash the Baddies!" Bonus Level title card, although activating the "COLOR" cheat shows a blue Krimp instead, despite none ever appearing; the color is closer to purple, since the Krimp shares an in-game palette with Dixie. In Dixie Kong's Photo Album, a photograph of a Krimp is classified as part of the Kremling Kreeps enemy class.

Krimps appear in ten levels in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! In the Game Boy Advance version, Krimps appear in two more levels, both located in Pacifica:

Krimps are the Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! equivalent of Donkey Kong Country's Klaptraps and Donkey Kong Country 2's Klampons. They are fully vulnerable on the back side (unlike the Klampon and Klaptrap) and on the top, but if hit from the front, they will reconcile with a swift bite. They get faster as the game progresses, which makes them harder to avoid or defeat. Even though Kobbles are the basic soldier of the Kremlings in Donkey Kong Country 3, Krimps outnumber them greatly. According to the game's credits, Krimps belong to the "Kremling Kreeps" enemy class. Krimps also make an appearance in Donkey Kong Land III with no changes. Krimps wear a spiked collar around their neck.

*When defeated in cascade levels, the sound they make is a lower-pitched version of Re-Koil's cry, compared to the normal cry that originally belonged to Krusha. Their cry also echoes when defeated in those levels.
*When the "Color" cheat is activated, a blue Krimp can be seen on the "Bash the baddies!" bonus screen, but no Krimps in the game appear in that color.
