They are the successor of [[Klobber]]s from ''[[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest]]'', but Knockas are different mainly from the fact that they wear a barrel with a noticeably different appearance from regular barrels. Knockas have two variants, [[Klasp]]s and [[Kuchuka]]s; the former climbs across a horizontal [[rope]] while hiding inside a [[TNT Barrel]], while the latter stays inside a purple barrel and throws bombs at [[Dixie Kong]] and [[Kiddy Kong]].

They hide in their barrel at first, dormant, until being approached by [[Dixie Kong]] or [[Kiddy Kong]], then the Knocka begins to run after them. Knockas cannot damage the player characters directly and opt for trying to push them into another enemy or a pit instead. A Knocka can be defeated if the [[Kong]] [[jump]]s onto it, picks up the Knocka, and throws it at a surface. In [[Dixie Kong's Photo Album]], a Knocka is categorized under the [[Kremling Kreeps]].


In the [[Donkey Kong Country 3 (Game Boy Advance)|remake]], Knockas use the same voice clips as Klobbers from the [[Donkey Kong Country 2 (Game Boy Advance)|previous game]]. Additionally, the remake also introduces [[Kracka]]s, a variant of Klasp behaving like Knockas.

Knockas have an attack pattern similar to an earlier enemy named [[Klobber]]; a Knocka will wait hidden in it's barrel, if either [[Dixie]] or [[Kiddy Kong]] pass by a Klobber will spring forth out of it's barrel and begin trying to ram the Kongs. Since a Klobber cannot directly hurt a Kong they will try and ram them into either another enemy or an abyss.

A Knocka can be defeated by simply jumping on it, this will knock it back into it's barrel. Once back in it's [[barrel]] a Knocka can simply be picked up and thrown away. In later levels of ''Donkey Kong Country 3'' two barrel wearing sub-species of Knockas, [[Klasp]]s and [[Kuchuka]]s are encountered. Also in the Game Boy Advance remake of ''Donkey Kong Country 3'' an explosive version of Knockas, [[TNT Knocka]]s are encountered in one level of the game.
