Klobbers have small ears, and each one has a large hoop earring pierced into them, though not in ''[[Donkey Kong 64]]''. As shown in their official artwork render, Klobbers have a patch on their right cheek. In most of their appearances, the barrel worn by Klobbers is missing both the bottom and top lids, although in ''Donkey Kong 64'', the top lid is placed on Klobber's head. As Klobbers move around, they carry their barrel around with them, and only poke out their head and feet. Klobbers stick their feet out from the bottom of the barrel. They have three big toes, each one sporting a large claw-shaped toenail.

Klobbers are enemies in ''[[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest]]''. At first, a Klobber looks like an ordinary [[barrel]], which they hide inside of, but when [[Diddy Kong|Diddy]] and [[Dixie Kong|Dixie]] approach a Klobber, it reveals itself and runs after the [[Kong]]s, attempting to repeatedly knock into them. As it runs, Klobbers makes a noise similar to the sound of tires screeching. Unlike most other enemies, Klobbers cannot hurt the Kongs on contact, but it can push them into a [[pit]] or a different hazard, including an enemy. A Klobber stops moving and retreats into its barrel for a short time if the Kongs either jump onto it or throw a projectile at it. The Kongs can grab the Barrel that the Klobber is hiding in and throw it in the manner of an ordinary barrel, which defeats the Klobber as a result. Klobbers can also be defeated from touching [[bramble]]s or any other environmental hazard.

Aside from their explosive [[TNT Barrel]] counterpart, [[Kaboom]]s, Klobbers have two additional color variations of their own: yellow ones and gray ones with red eyes. The difference is that each time a yellow Klobber hits Diddy and Dixie, they drop a [[Banana Bunch]], while the gray ones cause them to drop a [[Red Balloon]] for each hit; for either type, the Kongs have to quickly recollect the items before they disappear. Both the yellow and gray Klobbers are less common, especially the latter type, and mostly just appear in later [[K. Rool's Keep]] levels and [[Lost World (Donkey Kong Country 2)|Lost World]] levels. All three Klobber types appear throughout [[Klobber Karnage (Donkey Kong Country 2)|Klobber Karnage]]. In the end credits, Klobbers all appear under the "[[Kremling Kuthroats]]" enemy class.

A Klobber makes a brief cameo in [[Super Mario-kun Volume 14|Volume 14]] of ''[[Super Mario-kun]]''. The last part of the book has a series of comics based on ''Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest'', including a 'find the differences' activity between several enemies, including Klobber.

In [[Super Mario-kun Volume 15|Volume 15]], before the heroes board the [[Gangplank Galleon]] taking advantage of the frozen sea, [[King K. Rool]] throws Klobbers at them, but Mario and Yoshi, with their [[fireball]]s and [[Fire watermelon|red watermelon]] respectively, burn them. In the next chapter, a Klobber traps DK in a cage during the final battle, where he would remain for the rest of the chapter.

Klobbers are enemies in ''[[Donkey Kong Land 2]]''. All of them behave like the standard green type, and do not appear in color varieties, since the [[Game Boy]] hardware does not support full color.
