Klampons are enemies introduced in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. These blue-skinned, red-spotted, quadrupedal Kremlings with a big head, large jaws, and bulging eyes. Klampons are described in the game's manual as being the bigger brothers of Klaptraps. Similar enemies named Krimps replace Klampons in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

History
They appear as blue and red-spotted crocodiles with small bodies, big heads and jaws, and bulging eyes. They are relatives of Klaptraps from Donkey Kong Country. Indeed they bear an extreme resemblance to each other, although the Klampon is a bit larger than a Klaptrap. Both enemies share the same way of attack, and are invulnerable to a frontal attack as well as an attack from behind. However a stomp will take care of them. Klampons are also vulnerable from a cartwheel or spin attack from above, unlike Klaptrap. Sometimes Klampons appear with their functional opposites (weak to frontal attacks but immune to jump attacks), the Spinies.  This makes it harder to defeat the group of enemies, as defeating one may accidentally lead to being hurt by the other.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest / Donkey Kong Land 2
Klampons are enemies in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2, behaving identically in both games. Klampons attack by repeatedly chomping their jaws while moving back and forth. Diddy and Dixie cannot roll into a Klampon from the side because this injures them, but a Klampon can be defeated from a jump attack, having a barrel or crate thrown at it, from an Animal Friend, or from being rolled into from above. Klampons have a functional opposite, Spinies, which are protected from jumping attacks but are vulnerable to frontal attacks, and the enemies are encountered together in Castle Crush. In the cast roll, Klampons are classified as part of the "Kremling Kuthroats" enemy class.

Klampons have the same defeated voice clips as Klomps and several other Kremlings in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest only, but are mute in the game's remake.
Trivia
*According to the game's credits, Klampons belong to the "Kremling Kuthroats" enemy class.

A Klampon makes a brief cameo in Volume 14 of Super Mario-kun. The last part of the book has a series of comics based on Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, including a 'find the differences' activity between several enemies, including Klampon.

Donkey Konga 2
Artwork of a Klampon sometimes appears onscreen in "Freestyle Zone" in response to the player hitting the DK Bongos, in Donkey Konga 2.
