King Bowser's Castle is the eighth course of World 6 in Yoshi's Woolly World, and, by extension, the final compulsory course of the game.
King Bowser's Castle is the eighth level of World 6 in Yoshi's Woolly World, and, by extension, the final compulsory level of the game.

After two rooms that serve largely as playable cutscenes, the course has a hub room requiring Yoshi to fill in statues of Baby Bowser with specific colors. Shy Guys of the relevant colors can be found in certain rooms. Nearly every other enemy in the course cannot be eaten or is colored black, which conventionally forces the player to find all of the non-black Shy Guys to complete the course. Once complete, Yoshi has to complete an autoscrolling room where Kamek attacks him. At the end Yoshi fights Baby Bowser to rescue the Yoshis and end the game.

For this course's non-linear component, this article follows an order ascertained from the order of Wonder Wools and Smiley Flowers.
The level begins with Skeleton Goonies and a cannon leading to Bowser's Castle. A segment containing Fangs and Tap-Taps follows, leading to a door. This, in turn, leads to a four statues where Yoshi must find the correct color yarn for each, with the both checkpoints on either side and it has a few Hook Guys. Yoshi must first go to the left, and enter a segment with Black Shy Guys. He must then head up the stairs, past some Fly Guys (where the Moon is visible again) to an area with eight fast-moving Fly Guys. The next segment consists of more Shy Guys, as well as some Bomb Guys. The segment below it consists of water and a fast-moving yarn ball pendulum. Yoshi must hit an ! Switch at the top left of the segment and make his way to a blue warp pipe, then head left to a more secret area where he can find blue Shy Guys. Yoshi must then head back to the statues and fill them in with the appropriate colors, causing a larger statue to reveal a door. Kamek will then try to ambush Yoshi in a similar fashion to previous Yoshi levels. This leads to the boss door.

The course begins with an infinite supply of Skeleton Goonies flying leftward, from open air to over a cliff. Yoshi can proceed forward on this cliff to find a set of three platforms, at the top of which is a Winged Cloud hiding a cannon bobbin. This bobbin shoots Yoshi far right across the sky, landing inside the courtyard of Bowser's Castle. A segment containing with basic blocky platforms and pits between them follows, though the last of these pits is notable for being too wide for a normal jump to cross. There are black Fangs and Tap-Taps here. Once across, a ! Switch on a low ceiling causes a four pillars to rise, opening a path into the castle's interior. A staircase leads to w set of blocks in a staircase formation with a door on the top. The door is a one way transition to further inside the castle, and properly starts the course. No Wonder Wool or Smiley Flowers are found before this point, but there are some hearts to collect

This door leads to a room where the floor rises into another room, which contains Baby Bowser statues in front of a large Baby Bowser statue in the background. There are two on the ground and two on a bridge in the room. Yoshi must fill in these four Baby Bowser statues with a yarn ball matching their color, otherwise the statue will revert to normal partway through filling. The bottom right statue has a heart playing card and symbol needs red, the top left statue has a diamond playing card symbol needs white, the top right statue has a clover playing card symbol and needs green, and the bottom right statue has a spade playing card symbol needs blue. There are Shy Guys of each of these colors in four rooms in the level, requiring Yoshi to eat at least one of each color of them and return with their yarn balls. The relevant rooms have shapes of the relevant color and playing card symbol in their foregrounds or backgrounds, as a further indicator. The Skeleton Goonies from the first room can be used for the white color if the player plans ahead. It is possible for Yoshi to be one of the required colors, allowing players in co-op or using Double Yoshi to skip one or two of these statues by throwing a Yoshi at them. Alternatively, in Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, the Poochy Pups ignore this mechanic and fill in the statues with the right color all the time. Once this task is complete the large statue in the background will briefly come to life and open its mouth, revealing a door into the next segment. As such, this room serves as a hub for most of the level. There are two Checkpoints in the room that Yoshi can use to save his current progress, one on the far left side and the other on the far right. They are placed such that Yoshi can leave this room without touching either Checkpoint. Their arrows point toward the center of the room. There are also some black Hook Guys on the bridge. These Hook Guys do not appear if Yoshi renters the bub room from an entrance in its ceiling.

To the left of the hub room is a room with scattered solid platforms, outlines of semisolid platforms, and black Shy Guys. Some of the outlines only appear after being passed through by an yarn ball, Poochy Pup, or Yoshi. The main portion of this room is all suspended over a set of spikes. A red Warp Pipe in the bottom left of this room can only be entered by filling in a outline of a platform in front of it. There are stairs above this room as another exit.

The red Warp Pipe drops Yoshi in a lava filled room with many semisolid platforms at a variety of heights hanging from the ceiling. There are two black Shy Guys, two red Shy Guys, Lava Drops, and a Gargantua Blargg. The Blargg chases Yoshi around, but the topmost platforms are out of its reach. The only way out of this room is back through the Warp Pipe.

The stairs leading up from the room two paragraphs ago lead to an exterior section near the top of the castle. To the right is another staircase leading out of the section. To the left of this second staircase are two black Fly Guys, followed by a platform jutting out from the left wall. There are four black Shy Guys and a bead jar. A Winged Cloud high above this platform drops a big Spring Ball, with a high enough bounce to take Yoshi to a set of two clouds with three White Shy Guys. There are three Black Fly Guys to the right of this cloud area, which loops the player back to the right staircase.

Going up through the right staircase of the prior section takes Yoshi to a long bridge section directly above the hub room. There are three holes that Yoshi can fall through to land back in the hub room. Eight Fly Guys in a contiguous line fly in an rounded rectangular pattern in this section, making seven loops before concluding their pattern by flying up and off the screen. The pattern goes across all three holes. Once all of these Fly Guys have been defeated one time, they leave behind a Wonder Wool and never appear again unless the course is reloaded. The center of one of the three holes leads to a bead filled drop with a Smiley Flower. This center drop concludes on a Flipper so yarn balls and Poochy Pups cannot be thrown back up. Yoshi can also walk off the right side of the bridge section to reach an area with semisolid green platforms.

To the right of the hub room is a room with a body water at the bottom. Each side of the room has water flowing inward and dropping into this body of water, with black Shy Guys on semisolid platforms walking against the current to stay in place. There are two Shy Guys on the left and three on the right. If Yoshi falls into the water the left side of the room has semisolid platforms in a false wall to climb back up. A large swinging ball takes up the center of the room, with a formation of Dotted-Line Blocks, dotted versions of beads, and a dotted Smiley Flower. To the left of its highest leftward point is a ! Switch that temporarily makes the dotted objects into ! Blocks, beads, and a Smiley Flower. The ! Blocks are the only way to access a blue Warp Pipe in the room's lower left, which is inside a platform too high to reach by jumping out of the water. Its crevice can be exited by jumping up through the semisolid platform of the right three Shy Guys, or by dropping into the water. To the right of the swinging balls highest rightward point is a semisolid platform with a green Warp Pipe in the ceiling leading to a room above this one.

Going through the green Warp Pipe takes Yoshi to an area with green semisolid platforms. Many black Shy Guys are here, including some Bomb Guys. There is a green Shy Guy in the middle of the pack. On the right side of the top most platform there is a Shy Guy Stack of black Shy Guys. To the right of the green platforms there are two staircases that lead to an aforementioned bridge section. If Yoshi stomps on one of the Shy Guys on the topmost platform they can bounce to a high platform on the right which leads into a hidden room. There is a Fooly Flower and two Present Boxes, the left of which has beads and the right of which has a real Smiley Flower.

The blue Warp Pipe from the room two paragraphs ago drops Yoshi into a water filled room that proceeds to the left. It starts with semisolid platforms. Below the first platform is a small block with a Clawdaddy. The second platform has two black Shy Guys. A long gap leads to a strand of blue yarn dangling from spool Yoshi can climb, but to both sides of it there are Lunge Fish. Two semisolid platforms are farther along but higher than the last platform, only being accessible by climbing then jumping to the left. There is a Present Box here containing a Smiley Flower. While the left wall appears absolute, Yoshi can drop underneath the water's surface to proceed past it. This leads to an alcove with another spool of blue yarn Yoshi can climb. A cubby extending into the left of the aforementioned not quite absolute wall has three blue Shy Guys, and a bow in the not quire absolute wall allows Yoshi to eat part of it away to more easily leave the area and return to the blue Warp Pipe. There are no other exits.

If the player follows this route, they can collect all of the yarn balls to activate the large Baby Bowser statue in the hub room and use its door. After entering that door, Yoshi is dropped into a rightward autoscrolling section. Kamek appears in a similar fashion to previous Yoshi levels, shooting out spreadshots of three magic spheres at Yoshi. The various striped blocks in this section turn into an enemy or a heart if Kamek's magic hits them. Kamek can be forced to warp away if either Yoshi, their tongue, or a yarn ball touches him and sometimes he will warp away anyway without shooting. Once the final Checkpoint has scrolled far enough on screen, Kamek stops appearing. A large door takes Yoshi to Baby Bowser.
