'''Junker Can Xs''' are a stronger version of the [[Junker Can]]s that appear alongside [[Junker X]] in [[the Gauntlet]] in ''[[Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story]]'' and [[Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey|its remake]]. They have the same battle tactics as the original Junker Cans from earlier on, just much stronger and faster. Junker Can Xs have a different color scheme from their original version, being light brown/yellow with pink eyes instead of the silver/blue color combination with yellow eyes.

They will attack by getting close to the plumbers, trying to slam them, but this attack can be countered by using the [[Hammer]]s. However, Junker Can Xs will stop short if they see the hammer, and then close their lids, preventing them from taking damage; they must be countered as quickly as possible, but not too quickly. Junker X may occasionally pick up [[Luigi]] and throw him in a Junker Can X, and he cannot get out until [[Mario]] hammers and defeats the Junker Can X holding him. If Mario is defeated with Luigi still trapped, the can will drain Luigi's [[Heart Point|HP]] and KO him as well.

If Mario and Luigi do defeat a Junker Can X, a [[Fish Bone]] (replaced with a [[Scutlet (enemy)|Scutlet]] in the remake), [[Chain Chomp]], or [[Nooz]] will head for the plumber that attacked it but will be a lot faster than before.
