This power-up is an enhanced version of the Super Leaf, colored gold and white instead of the usual brown tones, giving the user the additional power of permanent invincibility in the level it is found in.
The Invincibility Leaf (also called Invincible Super Leaf) is a power-up that first appeared in Super Mario 3D Land. This power-up is very similar to the Super Leaf, but with added invincibility.

In Super Mario 3D Land, its Assist Block only appears after Mario or Luigi loses five lives in a (skipped) normal world level (for example, by using a Warp Zone); it does not appear in the Special Worlds nor does it reappear in levels that have already been cleared, meaning Luigi can only obtain the Invincibility Leaf and the P-Wing if levels are skipped, and have yet to be cleared. Using the leaf will turn Mario into White Tanooki Mario, making him invincible for the entire level (though he cannot get extra lives). After completing a level with it, the player will revert back to the normal Tanooki form.
In Super Mario 3D Land, it only appears after Mario loses five lives in a level that is not already completed. It will not appear when re-visiting a completed level or a Special World level. This means Luigi cannot obtain it in that game unless the player skipped any levels in the normal worlds (for example, by using a Warp Zone). Touching it will give Mario a shining white and golden Tanooki Suit, making him White Tanooki Mario, and it will make him invincible, as the Star also does, but the invincibility lasts for the entire level.

The Invincibility Leaf returns in New Super Mario Bros. 2, but changes Mario into White Raccoon Mario instead of White Tanooki Mario. As with Super Mario 3D Land, one only appears after Mario loses five lives in any given level, with the exception of the Cannon levels. As White Raccoon Mario, the P-Meter fills up faster than as normal Raccoon Mario, and Mario has the ability to walk/run on water, like Mini Mario. The power-up will last for the entire level and will revert to normal Raccoon Mario/Luigi upon completion. Its Assist Block will remain in the level until the player beats it without using it. It can also be used in Coin Rush mode, where the Assist Block is available from the beginning of the level.
The Invincibility Leaf returns in New Super Mario Bros. 2, but changes Mario into White Raccoon Mario instead of White Tanooki Mario. As White Raccoon Mario, the P-Meter fills up faster than as normal Raccoon Mario, and Mario has the ability to walk/run on water, like Mini Mario. The power-up will last for the entire level and will revert to normal Raccoon Mario/Luigi upon completion. White Raccoon Mario cannot be replaced by any other powered-up form, including Gold Mario and Mega Mario. However, Super Stars can still be used while the Invincibility Leaf is in effect. To obtain the secret exits and unlock hidden levels, the player must clear the level without using the Invincibility Leaf. It can also be used in Coin Rush mode, where Mario remains in White Raccoon form for the entire pack.

As with Super Mario 3D Land, its Assist Block only appears after Mario loses five consecutive lives in any given level, with the exception of the Cannon levels. However, the block will remain in the level until the player beats it without using it and it can return in a level, even if the level in question has been cleared.
The Invincibility Leaf cannot be replaced by any power-up items, including the Gold Flower and Mega Mushroom. However, the Star item can still be used while the Invincibility Leaf is in effect. To obtain the secret exits and unlock the hidden levels, the player must clear the level without using the Invincibility Leaf.

Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
The Invincibility Leaf also appears in Super Mario 3D World, referred to as the Invincible Super Leaf on the website, as well as the Gold Leaf in the Prima game guide. It again turns players into the White Tanooki form. The Assist Block functions as it did in New Super Mario Bros. 2, but the number of lost lives needed to make it appear is based on the number of players: 6 for one player, 12 for two, 18 for three, and 24 for four. Furthermore, the Invincibility Leaf cannot be used in Champion's Road.

The Invincibility Leaf reprises its role in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. However, when compared to the new Invincibility Bell, the latter takes priority over it. This consequently makes this game the first to let the player hold the Invincibility Leaf in the item storage; completing the course or losing a life will convert it into a Super Leaf.

However, unlike Super Mario 3D Land, the Invincibility Leaf will show up in a level, providing Mario or Luigi have met the criteria of losing five lives, regardless of whether or not the level in question has been cleared. This means Luigi can be a White Fox at any level, as opposed to 3D Land.

The Invincibility Leaf also appears in Super Mario 3D World, referred to as the Invincible Super Leaf on the website. It functions the same way as in Super Mario 3D Land.
