The Inverted Pyramid is a location in the Sand Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. It is a hexagonal pyramid towering above the rest of the kingdom. As per the name, it is upside down, so the entrance is at the tip. Despite the odd position, it does not fall over. It is a famous landmark that attracts tourists.
The Inverted Pyramid is a location in the Sand Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. It is a location towering above the rest of the kingdom, and resembles an upside-down pyramid, hence its name. The inside of the pyramid features Bullet Bills, the sides of the pyramid feature 8-bit sections with Goombas, and Hariet is fought for the first time at the top of the pyramid. After Hariet is defeated, the Inverted Pyramid floats into the air, allowing the player to enter a large hole revealed underneath.

The Inverted Pyramid's entrance only opens to Mario after completing Moon Shards in the Sand. The inside of the pyramid features Bullet Bills, and a 8-bit pipe that takes Mario into the wall. This section makes use of gravity fields. From here, Mario can use a pipe to walk across a band of the exterior, which is also an 8-bit section with Goombas. After returning to the interior, Mario can leave a final gravity section and return to the third dimension. This last room has Bullet Bills, Hat Trampolines, and a big field of small cacti right in front of the exit. The bottom of the pyramid has a Jaxi Stand and five Jaxi Statues. There is a space for a final statue, but the statue is mysteriously absent. There is sand piled up by the space though. It is implied that Jaxi used to stand here. In the center of the area, Hariet is fought as part of Showdown on the Inverted Pyramid.
The Inverted Pyramid reappears in the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS ports of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, in the level Secret of the Inverted Pyramid. A Pull Switch is found on top of the pyramid, and causes it to float into the air when pulled.

After Hariet is defeated, the Inverted Pyramid floats into the air, allowing the player to enter a large hole revealed underneath. This leads into the objective The Hole in the Desert, during which the Pyramid is inaccessible. After completing that, a Tostarenan lets Mario use a Hat Catapult to reach the entrance, and another Tostarean sets up a power line from Tostarena Town so that Mario can use spark pylons to reach the bottom. Another spark pylon allows Mario to travel to the Moe-Eye Habitat or Tostarena Northwest Reaches, or go to the Inverted Pyramid from those locations.
The Inverted Pyramid appears in The Super Mario Bros. Movie in the scene where Mario, Toad, and Princess Peach are traversing the Sand Kingdom.

A Pull Switch is found on top of the pyramid, and causes it to float into the air when pulled. This version of the pyramid lacks the exterior 8-bit section and both entrances into the pyramid that the original has.
