In this event, the player starts by swinging down the Wii Remote. The wind speed and direction is displayed onscreen, and the player should aim to start when there is headwind for more distance. Once the character has started, the player must tilt the Wii Remote to keep the character upright and balanced, allowing them to gain more speed and thus distance. The player can press {{button|wii|A}} during their descent to gain a short speed boost, or can use it while in the air, but can only use it once during the event. As the player approaches the edge of the jump platform, they must swing the Wii Remote upwards to takeoff. The timing of their swing will affect the jump and distance that the player achieves, with better-timed swings allowing the player to achieve better distances. Once in the air, the player must continue to balance by tilting the Wii Remote. As the character approaches the ground at the end of their jump, the player must swing downwards at the end of the countdown to land their jump. Doing it with better timing will award them more points, with perfect timing allowing them to land with Telemark form. Once the character has completed their jump, they will be awarded separate amounts of points for distance and balance, as well as a total score that decides their placement in the event. The player performs two jumps in this event, with their combined point score deciding their placement in the event.
