==Setting==
The game takes place on an ice hockey arena split into red and blue sides, with an [[emblem]] of a [[Super Star]] with red and blue hockey sticks printed in the middle. The arena is protected by a glass fence with outlines of [[Mushroom]]s, [[Fire Flower]]s, and Super Stars, and several [[Goomba]]s and [[Koopa Troopa]]s are spectating on yellow, blue, red, and white bleachers.

==Gameplay==
In this minigame, two three-player teams (two players and a goalie) try to score more goals than the opposing team within a time limit. While playing, the player uses {{button|gcn|Stick}} to move, the {{button|gcn|A}} button to attempt to pass or steal the puck, the {{button|gcn|B}} button to make a strong shot or a body check, and the {{button|gcn|X}} button to shoot a weak shot.

After reading the instructions, the player can choose the four characters that will play ([[Shy Guy]]s will act as goalies), choose teams and computer difficulty levels, and set the time limit for the match (60, 180, or 270 seconds). The game then gets underway with an opening face-off in the middle of the rink and lasts until time expires, at which point the team with more goals is declared the winner, or if the scores are equal, the match is declared a draw.
