In addition to the regular timer on the bottom, there is also a timer in the upper left within the microgame based on the bonus stage timer in the original ''Ice Climber'' game.
 
In ''Mega Microgame$!'' the timer counts down at a set speed regardless of the microgame's speed, so as the microgame speeds up, the amount of time on that timer decreases. For instance, at speed 1 the timer starts at approximately 02.8, whereas at speed 2 it starts at 02.4.
 
In ''Gold'' the timer almost always starts at approximately 08.0, with 2 beats equaling 1.0 on the timer. In the WarioWatch challenge the timer starts at approximately 10.0, partially due to all non-boss microgames in WarioWatch having a 28-beat time limit.
