A Hurt Plant is an enemy found on Lavalava Island in Paper Mario. They are carnivorous, venomous plants that disguise themselves as Heart Plants.
A Hurt Plant is a species of carnivorous plant found on Lavalava Island in Paper Mario. These plants look exactly like Heart Plants, however, when touched, they do not drop hearts.  Instead, they attack Mario, Mario can't attempt to do the First Strike by jumping or whacking with a Hammer on them. In the battle, they attack by getting into the dirt; popping out from the dirt near to Mario and bites him, possibly Poisoning him. However, Mario can prevent from being poisoned by blocking the Hurt Plant's poisonous attacks.

Stats and Tattle Information
Undisturbed, Hurt Plants look exactly like undisturbed Heart Plants, having a long, yellow, curled-up stem with a blue tip and banding and a pair of green leaves at its base. When attacking, they unfurl and their stems split to reveal a long mouth with sharp teeth and copious amounts of saliva.

*Tattle: This is a Hurt Plant. Hurt Plants pretend to be Heart Plants, which give you a Heart when you touch them. If a Hurt Plant bites you, you'll be poisoned. Then your HP will slowly fall with each turn. We'd better beat 'em as quickly as possible. Unless you can frequently restore your HP, you'll find yourself in trouble pretty fast.

History
Hurt Plants are found throughout Jade Jungle, disguising themselves as Heart Plants. When interacted with, they will reveal themselves and give off a loud hiss, initiating a battle with Mario.

In battle, Hurt Plants attack by diving into the dirt and popping out near Mario to bite him, much like a Piranha Plant. If Mario fails to block this attack, he will have an approximately 85% chance of being poisoned.
