A '''Hurt Plant''' is an enemy found on [[Lavalava Island]] in ''[[Paper Mario]]''. They are carnivorous, venomous plants that disguise themselves as [[Heart Plant]]s.

==Design==
Undisturbed, Hurt Plants look exactly like undisturbed [[Heart Plant]]s, having a long, yellow, curled-up stem with a blue tip and banding and a pair of green leaves at its base. When attacking, they unfurl and their stems split to reveal a long mouth with sharp teeth and copious amounts of saliva.

==History==
Hurt Plants are found throughout [[Jade Jungle]], disguising themselves as Heart Plants. When interacted with, they will reveal themselves and give off a loud hiss, initiating a battle with [[Mario]].

In battle, Hurt Plants attack by diving into the dirt and popping out near Mario to bite him, much like a [[Piranha Plant]]. If Mario fails to [[Guard|block]] this attack, he will have an approximately 85% chance of being [[Poison (status effect)|poison]]ed.
