| Hot Lips first appear in ''[[Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island]]'' and return in its [[Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3|Game Boy Advance version]]. A Hot Lips is permanently stationed in one place within the lava, and to attack, a Hot Lips peeks out of its basin and spews a stream of lava in the direction of [[Yoshi (species)|Yoshi]] and [[Baby Mario]], similarly to the [[Spray Fish]]'s water-spraying attack. If the Yoshi is hit with the lava stream, it instantly loses a life. Hot Lips can only be defeated with a [[POW Block]], as many other attacks are completely ineffective and [[Yoshi Egg|eggs]] only temporarily stun them.
