They cover themselves in orange flames when they attack, but lose the flames afterwards. Hot Hootzes are usually stationary and do not fly around in set patterns like Hootzes or [[Blue Hootz]]es. They attack the [[Kong]]s by releasing a [[fireball]] in their direction. When engulfed in flames, Hot Hootzes cannot be [[jump]]ed on or [[Roll Attack|rolled]] into. However, when a Hot Hootz throws a fireball, it loses its flames and is vulnerable to jump attacks for a short time. At anytime though, they can be attacked with a [[barrel]] or other throwable object.

Being first found in [[Swinger Flinger]], Hot Hootzes continue to appear in levels including [[Crumble Cavern]], [[Sea Stack Attack]], and others.
