Haunted Maker Mansion is the second level of Cardstock Carnival in Yoshi's Crafted World, after Spinwheel Shuffle and before Hoop-Jump Hop. It features many ghoulish enemies, including the only Chompagobblers in the game. It is also one of the two levels in the game where a Yoshi shows a scared expression while idle, the other level being Be Afraid of the Dark.

Overview[edit]

Front side[edit]

The level opens in front of a wooden gate. Beyond it, there are a few Zombie Guys and a Vampire Heyho, with a Shy Guy in the background. A Winged Cloud opens a Coin trail underneath a stone ledge that leads to the first Smiley Flower. Further along the path is the front door of a large mansion. The foyer of the mansion contains two Zombie Guys and a Zombie Debuho sitting on a chair. A chandelier will fall through the ceiling to jumpscare the player, but can be used as a platform to reach the room above it. This room has four Red Coins - three under a table, and one behind a cardboard ghost in the background, which must be shot with a Yoshi's Egg. The end of the room holds a Zombie Debuho and an invisible Winged Cloud directly above the right exit, which reveals another Smiley Flower. To the left of the chandelier is a ledge leading to a small room with a hidden Winged Cloud holding eight Coins and two Red Coins.

The right exit is blocked by a large, walking chair, which Yoshi must push out of the way and jump over. The chair will walk back to its original spot, blocking the door. Another chair is against the opposing wall, and will move when the player defeats the Zombie Debuho weighing it down. Underneath it is a Winged Cloud with two Red Coins and a trap door to the lower room. When the player jumps down, they are ambushed by cardboard cutout monsters, one of which hides a Red Coin behind them, and another with a Key to the exit. To the left, is a small room holding an Egg Block and a Smiley Flower in a treasure chest, and leads back into the main foyer.

Leaving the mansion from the ambush room, the player will find more Zombie Guys besides a cliff. A secret present box in the background can be shot with an Egg for a prize of many Coins. On top of the cliff is a Time Cloud - hitting it activates a timed challenge to hit two Monty Moles and one big Monty Mole. Hitting each of them with an Egg awards the player with a Smiley Flower. After two more Zombie Guys is the first Check Point and second mansion.

Inside is a large room with two platforms to climb over a wall, guarded by a single Zombie Guy and the first Chompagobbler. The Chompagobbler patrols along a set path, and if they see the player, they will chase them and send them back to the beginning of the room. The player must navigate around the Chompagobbler to reach a Smiley Flower. By the exit is a Winged Cloud holding some healing Hearts. Leaving this room, Yoshi can restock his Eggs with the Egg Block before the next challenge. The following room is another set of platforms guarded by a Chompagobbler. The Winged Timed Cloud under the lowest platform produces several Blue Coins and a Smiley Flower. The door to the right is locked, so the player must climb to the upper floor and sneak past another Chompagobbler for the Key.

After escaping the second mansion, the player can climb some card trees and jump on two Vampire Heyho to reach a Smiley Flower. Beyond this, Yoshi must run from an Attack Ghost, a large Shy Guy cutout wielding a scythe, being sure not to hit the approaching Zombie Guys or miss the upcoming Red Coins. The Attack Ghost abandons its chase when the player reaches the second Check Point and third mansion.

The foyer of this mansion is much larger than the predecessors, and at the very entrance is a walking couch that, when the Zombie Debuho is removed, will mow down a line of enemies to clear the room. By climbing some swinging chandeliers, the player can reach a treasure chest that activates another cutout monster jumpscare, also hiding a Red Coin. Further along the chandeliers are two Winged Clouds, one with a Smiley Flower and one with some Hearts. By throwing an Egg at a loose section of the ceiling, the player can open a stairway to the upper floor. The first room here holds two walking chairs again weighed down by Zombie Debuho. The right chair covers a chest with three Red Coins, while the left chair hides the door to another Chompagobbler room, with a Key stashed away in the upper-left corner - directly above a walking couch and Zombie Debuho. With this key, Yoshi can exit the mansion.

Under the back exit's porch is a secret chest containing the last three Red Coins. Further, along the path, the scythe-wielding Attack Ghost appears once more to catch Yoshi before he reaches the end of the level.

Flip side[edit]

The cyan Poochy Pup is hiding behind the walking couch in the Key room of the first mansion, guarded by a Chompagobbler. The black Pup can be found in the next mansion in the Egg Block room - from the Flip side perspective, a rope is now visible, which can be climbed to the mansion's attic. The Pup is hiding in a chest. The pink and final Pup is playing in the first room of the final mansion, and the player must aim their Eggs around the cutout monsters blocking the view. The player can continue right to the end of the Flipside.
