Hammer Drop is a 4-Player coin-collecting minigame in Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars.
Hammer Drop is an 4-player mini-game that is found during the events of the Nintendo 64 video game, Mario Party. Unlike other mini-games, this mini-game involves collecting Coins freely.

Overview
Introduction
Players run atop a stone column as a Hammer Bro throws coins, coin bags (worth five coins), and hammers at them while riding a cloud. Players try to collect as many coins before time runs out. If a player falls off of the tower, they are eliminated but still keep the coins their coins, though this is not the case for Mario Party Superstars.
The mini-game takes place on a stone-made tower, surrounded by water and other stationery towers. Four of the players are positioned at their sides equally, as a Hammer Bro. riding in a cloud appears in the center of the playfield. The mini-game then begins.

Being a coin minigame, players do not perform their losing animation at the end unless they have not obtained any coins. The minigame ends with a "Miss!" only if every player falls off the tower.
Gameplay
The objective of the mini-game is to have the opportunity to collect the most amount of Coins as possible within the time limit of thirty seconds.

Hammer Drop can be bought from the Mini-Game House for 450 coins in Mario Party when it becomes available.
The Hammer Brother moves around the center of the tower, dropping various objects on the floor. Collectible objects include Single Coins, and Coin Bags that are worth five Coins. Dropped objects bounce towards the edge of the tower before disappearing forever, so the players must gather those Coins and Coin Bags as quickly as they can within the limited space.

Controls
To make the mini-game interesting, the Hammer Brother can also throw out Hammers to harm players. If the player gets hit by a Hammer, he or she will be stunned momentarily, causing the player to temporary lose the ability to pick up the collectible objects. Falling out of the tower will not let the player continue participating the mini-game, but will keep the Coins the player gathered before falling.

Mario Party Superstars
There is no winner or loser when the mini-game ended when the time limit is up. All the players participated and gathered the amount of coins they collected in the mini-game regardless if they fall out of the top of the tower or not.
