The '''Hall of Hieroglyphs''' is the first level of ''[[Wario Land 4]]'', as well as the first level of the [[Entry Passage]]. The whole level is basically a tutorial, teaching the player how to properly control [[Wario]] and master [[Wario Land 4#Wario's moves|his moves]]. The level has various pictures (or "hieroglyphs") of the [[shop owner]] on the walls teaching Wario what he needs to do across the level. For example, there are some parts in which he will have to perform his Dash Attack, and other parts where he needs to throw a rock to break some [[brown block]]s. At the end of the level, Wario must hit the [[Switch (Wario Land 4)|switch]] to open up the [[vortex]] which brings Wario back to the [[Golden Pyramid|Pyramid]]. This stage, along with the [[Golden Passage]], does not have a [[CD]] to collect. In [[Wario Land 4#Game mode|S-Hard mode]], the switch is near the beginning of the level.

The time given to escape the level after hitting the [[Switch (Wario Land 4)|switch]] varies between [[Wario Land 4#Game mode|game modes]], including 1:00 in Normal mode, 0:15 in Hard, and 2:30 in S-Hard, but with the switch located near the start of the level.
