Gulpits are bulky, indigo creatures with rather long pink tongues, greenish blushing cheeks, and a penguin-like body.

Gulpits only appear in the game Paper Mario. They are found in the icy Shiver region. They attack by picking up rocks in their mouths (called "Gulpits' Rocks" in-game), and spitting them back out at the offender, causing their opponents to take damage. There are five Gulpits' Rocks that always appear in any battles with Gulpits—three large ones and two small ones—and the amount of damage the player takes depends on the size of the rock spat out at them. These rocks can be destroyed by the player. Gulpits also attack by licking their enemy with their tongue, which they usually only use when they run out of rocks to spit. This attack is used by them outside of battle to execute a First Strike. Mario encounters Gulpits on Shiver Mountain and in Shiver Snowfield during the events of the game.
Gulpits never appear in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, but are given one reference: when Grubba catches Mario examining confidential works of his, he sputters the surprised phrase "Great galloping Gulpits!" This phrase is actually taken from two of Koopa Koot's many exclamations. | Gulpits never appear in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, but are given one reference: when Grubba catches Mario examining confidential works of his, he sputters the surprised phrase "Great galloping Gulpits!"
