'''Ground Work''' is an [[e-Reader]] level for ''[[Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3]]''. This card was released in Series 2 in Japan. Its official difficulty rating is ★★★☆☆. It was originally released only in Japan, but it first became available internationally when the game was released on the [[Wii U]] [[Virtual Console]] in 2016. The level contains four [[Advance Coin]]s. [[Larry|Larry Koopa]] is featured in the key art.

Mario begins this level at a desert area containing four orange [[Warp Pipe]]s and [[Jumping Piranha Plant]]s. The third Pipe takes Mario to the inside of a cavern filled with [[soft sand]] that can be dug (originally from ''[[Super Mario Bros. 2]]'').

This first part contains [[Buster Beetle]]s and [[White Block]]s, and [[Grass|grass patches]] with [[Vegetable]]s and [[Monty Mole]]s underneath. After climbing down a [[rope]], Mario reaches a vertical-scrolling room full of digging sand, [[Goomba]]s and [[Porcupo]]s, in addition to the first Advance Coin. Two Pipes are found at the end of this area: the left one takes the player to a room with another Advance Coin guarded by [[Koopa Paratroopa]]s; and the right one leads them to another vertical area, though Mario must climb up dodging more Goombas, Porcupos and now [[Spike]]s (which behave similar to [[Snifit]]s in ''Super Mario Bros. 2''). There is another Advance Coin. Climbing to the top, there is the final room of the cave, with more Buster Beetles, Goombas, Spikes and the last Advance Coin just after a Warp Pipe. Entering it, Mario is transported to the [[Goal (Super Mario Bros. 3)|goal]] area, including two [[Chain Chomp]]s and another Jumping Piranha Plant.
