Grab Bag is a 4-Player Coin-collecting minigame in Mario Party and a Battle minigame in Mario Party 2.
Grab Bag first appears in Mario Party as a 4-player mini-game, and Mario Party 2 as a battle mini-game. The name of the mini-game is a play on words of "grab bag" which is a term used when someone wins a bag filled with stuff.

Overview
Gameplay
Players try to grab other players' bags to steal either their Coins in Mario Party or each of their five mushrooms in Mario Party 2. In the first game, the players' Coin totals by the end determines what they have on the board. Grab Bag is more competitive in Mario Party 2, since one player also has a Gold Mushroom, worth three points, and whoever ends with the most mushrooms wins.
In both games, it involves players pressing the n64 to grab other players' bags and steal their coins (in Mario Party) or mushrooms (in Mario Party 2). In the original game, what the players' coin totals are at the end of the minigame will determine what they will possess on the board game. In Mario Party 2, each player starts with 5 mushrooms, and one player has a Golden Mushroom worth 3 points, and the player with the most at the end of the time limit is the winner.

On Mini-Game Island in Mario Party, the human player has no Coins, while each CPU has 20. The player can win if they get at least 15 Coins.
In Mini-Game Island in the original game, the player starts with no coins while each CPU has 20, and the player must earn 15 coins to clear the game. As this is a Battle Minigame in Mario Party 2, this minigame is not present in the Mini-Game Coaster.

Grab Bag can be bought from the Mini-Game House in Mario Party for 400 Coins when it becomes available, or from Woody in Mario Party 2 for 700 Coins.

The minigame title references "grab bag," a phrase referring to a prize bag filled with lots of items.
