Goomba Towers once again return as common enemies in the game ''[[Super Mario 3D World]]'' and its [[Nintendo Switch]] port ''[[Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury]]''. Once again, their attack pattern is simply to try to ram Mario or his allies. Some Goomba Towers have a [[Fire Bro]] at the top, and defeating it will instantly take out the whole tower. Goomba Towers can also hold objects such as [[Green Star]]s, power-ups, and [[Coin]]s. Some Goomba Towers can be found with all the Goombas sleeping. In the ''Bowser’s Fury'' campaign, Cat Goombas can appear stacked up on top of each other.

Goomba Towers reappear in ''[[Super Mario Maker]]'', ''[[Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS]]'' and ''[[Super Mario Maker 2]]''. They are created when the player stacks multiple Goombas on top of each other when creating a level. Big Goomba Towers can be created by stacking [[Big Goomba]]s that were enlarged by a [[Super Mushroom]]. They cannot be made in the ''Super Mario 3D World'' style due to the inability to stack enemies, despite Goomba Towers existing in the original game.

Goomba Towers reappear as enemies in ''[[Super Mario Odyssey]]''. They can be found in most of the kingdoms in the game, and attack by running into Mario as with other Goombas. This is their first appearance in a more sandbox-styled 3D game. If Mario [[capture]]s a Goomba and jumps on other Goombas, he can make and control a Goomba Tower himself. Alternatively, capturing an existing stack puts Mario in control of the topmost Goomba. Captured Goomba Towers are required to activate [[Goomba button]]s. Additionally, Goomba Towers can be used for collectibles impossible to reach otherwise, such as [[regional coin]]s or Power Moons in a high place that are unobtainable in Mario's regular form. Unlike most other enemies, Goomba Towers do not get dazed when Mario uncaptures them. In certain scenarios, such as jumping into the edge of a platform, a lower Goomba can be separated from the others. That Goomba will be dazed.

Goomba Towers reappear in ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'' and ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' as obstacles in [[Mario Circuit (Mario Kart 8)|Mario Circuit]]. They also appear in the ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass]]'' in the {{classic-link|Tour|Singapore Speedway}} course, replacing the [[Sidestepper]]s in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''. If the [[Lightning]] item is used, the Goomba Towers will fall apart. They will reform similarly to a [[Pokey]] about a second later.

Goomba Towers reappear as recruitable allies in the ''Bowser Jr.'s Journey'' mode in ''[[Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey]]''. The player can only befriend a maximum of two Goomba Towers, in which attempting to recruit a third one forces the player to dismiss one of them. Goomba Towers are weak to boomerang attacks from [[Boomerang Bro]]s. and [[Wendy]], along with yellow [[Shy Guy]]s.

Goomba Towers can be seen in ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Movie]]'' as a part of [[Bowser]]'s army. Additionally, in a promotional clip for the film, [[Toad]] is seen defending himself from [[Goomba]]s. Upon defeating a single Goomba with his frying pan, a Goomba Tower appears and chases Toad off of the screen.
