A '''Goomba Mask''' is an item that first appears in ''[[Super Mario 3D World]]''. It disguises the user as a [[Goomba]], allowing them to walk past enemies without getting noticed and attacked.

In ''Super Mario 3D World'', the mask can be found after defeating certain [[Goomba]]s, or in the right statue near a set of [[Chargin' Chuck]]s in [[Sunshine Seaside]]. Like several objects in the game, the Goomba Mask is worn over the player's body. Upon wearing it, [[Goomba]]s, [[Galoomba]]s and [[Mini Goomba]]s do not recognize the player and will not attack, but other enemies like [[Koopa Troopa]]s and [[Chargin' Chuck]]s will still actively chase the player. Also, Spotlights do not react if the player is within sight. However, contact with enemies still causes damage, removing the mask. When the player jumps, the same sound effect plays as when a Goomba jumps. When the player crouch-walks while wearing the mask, the Goombas' walking sound is used. Power-ups cannot be used in this state, although [[Princess Peach|Peach's]] [[Floating Jump|float]] can still be used.

In ''[[Super Mario Maker 2]]'', knocking on a [[Warp Door]] in the ''Super Mario 3D World'' style may cause [[Weird Mario]] to appear while wearing a Goomba Mask. It was later added as a wearable object exclusive to the ''Super Mario 3D World'' style in the version 3.0.0 update released on April 22, 2020, allowing the player to avoid getting noticed by most enemies, unlike in ''Super Mario 3D World''.

In ''[[Paper Mario: The Origami King]]'', a different Goomba Mask resembling a [[Paper Macho Goomba]] appears in the [[Shogun Studios]] storage area. If Mario wears it, he spins around and causes the mask's eyes to roll, with the humorous appearance making [[Olivia]] laugh.

Mario uses the Goomba Mask to sneak past a group of [[Folded Soldiers]] and [[Paper Macho Soldier]]s in front of [[Big Sho' Theater]]. Later, in [[Breezy Tunnel]], Mario has to use the mask to cheer Olivia up after [[Bob-omb (Paper Mario: The Origami King)|Bob-omb]]'s sacrifice.
