Unlike Pagoda Peak, however, when players reach the captain, he will give them a [[Star (Mario Party series)|Star]] from his chest absolutely free, then send the player back to start via gulls. Despite being the longest board in the game, there are many shortcuts. Players can pay [[Dolphin]]s to ride on their backs (in a manner similar to [[Koopa's Seaside Soiree]] in ''[[Mario Party 4]]'') to travel a number of spaces closer to Captain Goomba. The price to ride the Dolphins is determined by the player's position (for example, a player in first place will have to pay 20 coins to move ahead 20 spaces, whereas a player in last place will only have to pay 5 coins to move the same distance).
