'''Goom Goom''' is a minor non-playable character in ''[[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door]]'' and its [[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch)|Nintendo Switch remake]]. He is a {{wp|heterosexual}} [[Goomba]] who wants a female Goomba for a partner.

==History==
In both versions, Goom Goom is in the [[Pirate's Grotto]]'s storeroom on [[Keelhaul Key]], where [[Mario]] finds him during Goom Goom's [[Looking for a gal!|trouble]]. Goom Goom wants to have a female Goomba partner, so Mario introduces him to [[Goombella]], though Goom Goom will complain about any other [[party member]], turning them down. Goombella does not feel the same about Goom Goom and lies that she is dating Mario to try and stop him from being interested in her. Goom Goom responds to the rejection by storming off, leaving behind a [[Couple's Cake]]. 

In the original game, Goom Goom describes his companion as being "petite, younger than [him], and pretty, not drop-dead hot". Goombella is slightly sympathetic, calling Goom Goom "very cute" and feeling bad for hurting his feelings.

In the English localization of the remake, Goom Goom's description for a Goomba partner was changed to "about [his] age, short like [him], and Goomba-shaped". Goombella is also more blunt, telling Goom Goom that is he out of luck.
