Her tears turn into strong spouts, which can be used to grow plants and spin water wheels. She can also run faster and jump higher; consequently, blue Donut Blocks can be crossed. It is used to defeat some bosses such as [[Petey Piranha]]. Also, the music gets two times slower when Princess Peach uses this vibe.

Gloom can also be used by some enemies like [[Sad Goomba|Goombas]], [[Sad Paragoomba|Paragoombas]], [[Sad Cheep Cheep|Cheep Cheeps]], [[Sad Dry Bones|Dry Bones]], [[Sad Nipper Plant|Nipper Plants]], [[Sad Raven|Ravens]], [[Sad Rex|Rexs]] and [[Sad Spiny|Spinies]]. Bosses like [[King Boo]] and [[Giant Kamek]] both use this vibe as well when their health is lowered to 2 HP. King Boo uses his tears to extinguish candles, Giant Kamek's cry causes the cloud platform to disappear, and Bowser will throw giant hammers.
