Giant cannonballs reappear in ''[[Super Mario Maker]]'' (and [[Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS|its Nintendo 3DS version]]) and ''[[Super Mario Maker 2]]''. The player can enlarge a normal Cannon with a [[Super Mushroom]], turning it into a giant cannon and enabling it to fire giant cannonballs. Unlike previous games, giant cannonballs are not faster than regular cannonballs by default; the cannon has to be changed from black to red in order to reproduce the faster speed.
