'''Gary''' is a rather ordinary [[Goomba]] and a member of [[Bowser]]'s legion of minions, the [[Koopa Troop]]. In ''[[Super Paper Mario]]'', Gary is one of the many Goombas transported to Bowser's wedding to [[Princess Peach]] and later, to [[Count Bleck]]'s castle.

After wandering around aimlessly in Count Bleck's castle, [[Castle Bleck]], Gary and his unnamed Goomba companion find an unconscious [[Luigi]]. When he wakes up, they ply him with insincere flattery in order to use him as a bodyguard. After traveling with Luigi for some time and whispering snide remarks about him under their breath, Gary and his Goomba friend come upon a dead-end in Count Bleck's castle. Before they can turn back, Gary is zapped by [[Nastasia]]'s hypnotic powers and transformed into a mindless servant of Count Bleck. Gary is last seen attacking Luigi along with his Goomba companion, who, at the sight of Gary being brainwashed, willingly joined Count Bleck's side because he says it is the winning side.
