The arena is a round platform floating in outer space, modeled after similar platforms in ''[[Super Mario Galaxy]]'' and [[Rainbow Road]]; in addition, the size of the battle stage would be adjusted depending on the tournament objective. Unlike the other courses in the game, its map lacked an outline, and was instead depicted as concentric circles representing the course's different sizes, with a transparent gradient on each. Players could knock them away with a Mushroom boost. In the second tournament, the outer rings of the arena broke off, and players had to send six Spiky Topmen off of the stage.
