'''Frenzy''' mode (known in the "Tips & Tricks" as an '''item frenzy''') is a state in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'' that the player enters when they have three of the same items. The player cannot receive a Frenzy from the first [[Item Box]] after their previous Frenzy. For the duration of a Frenzy, the player is [[Invincible Mario|invincible]] for nine seconds, they can use an indefinite amount of the acquired item, and, for most items, six of that item orbits around them. The orbiting items act as a timer, and vanish when the Frenzy ends. When the player uses an item during a Frenzy, they gain points. The player can also perform Ultra [[Mini-Turbo]]s much faster during a Frenzy. Only one player can be in a Frenzy at the same time. The higher the driver's level and rarity is, the higher their chance of getting an Item Frenzy. Both human and computer players can get a Frenzy, and their icon will turn gold on the map during a Frenzy. Frenzies can happen from either items from one Item Box, or items from past and current Item Boxes. Players can get a maximum of three Frenzies each race. The second lap has a higher chance of getting Frenzies.

Items that last for a certain period of time, such as [[Bullet Bill]]s, start the Frenzy used and only give extra points when reused during a Frenzy. A Frenzy that leave items on the track is limited to six items on the track at once. If more than six items are on the track from a current Frenzy, the oldest will be removed when another is used. A Frenzy that releases multiple items at once count each item individually towards the limit, but a Frenzy that produces items as an effect on hit, such as [[Yoshi's Egg]], will not have these secondary items count towards the limit. Certain [[List of tours in Mario Kart Tour|Tour Challenges]] require the player to start a Frenzy.  

|Coins orbit around the kart. Each gives one coin at the time. 6 extra coins are automatically given to the player as the frenzy nears its end.
