They both wear white cloaks, are capable of floating in the air, and always appear in a flash of fire and thunder, respectively. Firebrand's head is styled after a sun, while Thunderhand's head is shaped like a crescent moon. Firebrand is forgetful and easygoing, in contrast with Thunderhand's no-nonsense attitude. Firebrand and Thunderhand inhabit the [[Fire Palace]] and [[Thunder Palace]] and are the masters of two respective types of Hand Power: the [[Firebrand]], taught to [[Mario]], and the [[Thunderhand]], taught to [[Luigi]].
