They attack by flying out of a [[volcano]] in the background and falling down at a high speed while engulfed in flames. Fire Wanwan Dosun are invincible to any attack, but turn into [[Star (Yoshi's Island series)|star]]s after a [[Yoshi (species)|Yoshi]] touches a [[Checkpoint Ring]] nearby. They usually come downwards in set patterns. The spot where they land is indicated by a harmless column of heat that appears below them.
