Do we allow .webp files on this wiki?

I might be wrong, but I've heard .webp files could be pretty annoying to open and that hence people do not prefer these over more conventional file types like .jpg or .png; hence why I'm asking this question. If not, we should probably reupload this (and other .webp files) as .png files instead. rend (talk) (edits) 13:32, May 30, 2024 (EDT)

Many files for Princess Peach: Showtime! have been uploaded in .webp format too. The user who uploaded them was encouraged to switch to .png and .jpg, and they did so not long after. I remember Mario jc noticeably hinted me to, though not commanded me outright to, upload as PNG, but I love the WebP format and would've liked if I had received the honour to resume WebP uploading again beyond just for animated images. Oh, and also, the claim that .webp files are difficult to open is a lie spread by a very large anti-WebP cult, as all competent up-to-date softwares like PaintNET, XnViewMP, recent Photoshop versions, all PC and Android web browsers, etc., have no issues handling WebP.
