The '''Fake Chomp''', originally known as the '''Chomp Shell''', is a weapon for [[Bowser]] in ''[[Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars]]''. It appears to be the empty shell of a [[Chain Chomp]], though the English [[Super Nintendo Entertainment System|SNES]] version's description specifies [[Chaindelier|Kinklink]]s. It acts as a weaker version of the Chain Chomp Bowser can recruit from [[Booster Tower]] by solving the [[Elder Key]] puzzle. To attack with it, Bowser swings it as a flail before throwing it at an enemy. A [[Action Command|Timed Hit]] can be performed by pressing the button as the shell hits an enemy, boosting the attack power slightly. The Fake Chomp has an attack power of nine points with a random variation of up to three points above and below. It can be bought from the shop in the [[Marrymore]] hotel for 60 [[coin]]s.
