The '''Exploration Tour''' was the twenty-second tour of ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'', which began on July 15, 2020 and ended on July 28, 2020. Due to its theme around exploration and treasure-hunting, [[Captain Toad]] and [[Toadette]] in her explorer gear from ''[[Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker]]'' were added as the new spotlight drivers of the tour, while also adding appropriately-themed kart parts such as the [[Clackety Kart]] and the [[Treasure Map]]. [[N64 Choco Mountain|Choco Mountain]] from ''[[Mario Kart 64]]'' reappears as the signature course of the tour since its last appearance in ''[[Mario Kart DS]]''. This tour also featured a [[#Heavy Hitters Pipe|Heavy Hitters Pipe]], a pipe that focused on heavyweight drivers, and became available on July 19, 2020 and ended on July 23, 2020. The menu's background featured the mountains from Choco Mountain as the landmark for this tour. 

Starting from this tour, the [[Wildfire Flyer]] kart is available in regular tour pipes.

This tour also marks [[Nabbit]]'s physical debut in the game in the [[Vs. Mega#vs. Mega Nabbit N64 Choco Mountain|vs. Mega Nabbit]] bonus challenge after having his emblem on a [[List of badges in Mario Kart Tour|badge]] in the Standard Challenges 1-3, and he was added as a playable character in the [[Wild West Tour|next tour]].
