The player is given three seconds to memorize a pattern of three buttons shown above Dry Bowser's head. Afterwards, Dry Bowser will throw a bone at the player. The player must quickly press the appropriate buttons to hit the bone back at Dry Bowser with a hammer, which damages Dry Bowser. When Dry Bowser's health bar is half empty, Dry Bowser's button patterns will have four buttons instead of three, making it harder to remember; once Dry Bowser's down to his last hit point, the bones he throws are much larger and have five buttons. When the bone is successfully knocked back, Dry Bowser is defeated.
