The course features a large skeletal structure, with racers driving around bridges and hopping over a lake of lava, with the entire course having a {{wp|Día de los Muertos}} (Day of the Dead) theme.

Geographically, the course is located next to [[Bowser's Castle (Mario Kart World)|Bowser's Castle]] in the volcanic region in the northwest of the game's map.

It is the first ''Mario Kart'' course to be named after [[Dry Bones]], and is only the second course in the series to feature lava and not be a [[Bowser's Castle]], after [[Grumble Volcano]].
