Door (Wrecking Crew series)
Doors[1][2] appear in VS. Wrecking Crew and Wrecking Crew as objects from which monsters travel between the foreground and background. They are the earliest functional doors in the Super Mario franchise. Doors can be opened for a few seconds using hammers, and explosions open all of them at the same time.
History[edit]
Wrecking Crew series[edit]
Doors appear in every phase of VS. Wrecking Crew, with their color depending on the stage, but do not appear in bonus stages. In two-player mode, Mario or Luigi can use doors to send Gotchawrenches at each other.
Doors in Wrecking Crew are all green and work slightly different. If all Gotchawrenches or Eggplant Men enter the background in a phase with more than one, all enemies freeze for about eight seconds, though Foreman Spike can cause the freeze by sending the last monster to his side.
Other appearances[edit]
Doors are part of some Wrecking Crew challenges in NES Remix.
