According to Carson, Dimentio approached Count Bleck on his own, wishing to join him. Dimentio makes an appearance in volumes 37 and 38 of Super Mario-kun, in the story arc based on Super Paper Mario. Compared to the game, his role is reduced: in the whole story arc, he only intervenes in controlling Fracktail into hurting Mario and is surprised in the plumber's strength when he comes out victorious, then he disappears until the final chapter as the only remaining minion of Bleck (apart from Nastasia). After Luigi gets sucked into Count Bleck's black hole attack, off-screen, Dimentio captures him and fuses with him and the Chaos Heart in Super Dimentio in order to become the master of the new worlds. He attempts to squash the heroes after doing the same with Bleck, but Mario, Peach, and Bowser use the Pure Hearts to summon the power of a Mega Star, and together they crush Super Dimentio, killing him and freeing Luigi in the process. Unlike in the game, Dimentio did not tamper with the Chaos Heart to make sure the void kept going, so the relic is destroyed with him.

*In the English localization, Tippi seems to immediately recognize Dimentio upon first encountering him. However, in the original Japanese script, her reaction is more ambiguous, simply affirming that Dimentio is one of the count's minions.<ref>Dimentio: So very nice to meet you...and your mustache! *Dimentio has unused animations for both walking and running in Super Paper Mario. These animations go unused as Dimentio is always floating in the air while moving.

*In Chapter 8, when confronting both Mario and Luigi, Dimentio insults Luigi by calling his mustache a "shag" in the NTSC English version, but as this doubles as a vulgar slang term in British English, it was changed to "pushover" in the PAL English version.
