In ''Paper Mario'', it is found in [[Shy Guy's Toy Box]], in a [[Treasure chest|chest]] by the pink station reached by using the [[Jack-in-the-box (object)|jack-in-the-box]]. In ''Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door'', it is found in [[Twilight Town]], in the [[Twilight Shop]]'s storage room, and [[Rogueport Underground]], in a hidden room only accessible with [[Boat Mode]]. There is a very rare chance that [[Chain Chomp|Chain-Chomp]]s and [[Bob-ulk]]s can hold these badges, and [[Ms. Mowz]] can steal the badge from them, but only if they are the closest target in range. It can be sold for 150 coins. If equipped, it raises [[Mario]]'s defense by one, making him unable to be harmed by weak enemies such as [[Goomba]]s. Equipping multiple Defend Plus badges increases the effect.
