This minigame, [[Cast Aways]], and, to a greater extent, [[Pedal Power]], [[Tug o' War]], and [[Paddle Battle]] were infamous for [[List of controversies#Mario Party injuries|causing many hand injuries]] among players, leading [[Nintendo]] to provide gloves in a legal settlement. For the [[Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online]] re-release of ''Mario Party'', a warning appears upon the game being started, advising players not to use their palms to rotate the stick.

==Gameplay==
This minigame is similar to [[Treasure Divers]], except it is a 2-vs-2 minigame instead of a 4-Player minigame. There are many [[treasure chest|Treasure Chests]] in the ocean waiting to be picked up as the two teams prepare to grab as many of them as possible. One player on the team has to dive down in the deep ocean, grab a Treasure Chest, and return to the surface, while the other player has to use the boat to move around the area and help reel the other player with the chest back to the surface. If the player in the boat fails to reel the other player, the other player will drop the chest. The biggest chest contains 10 Coins and is located at the very bottom of the ocean; it requires both members of a team to cooperate to bring it to the surface. A similar minigame, [[Deep Sea Salvage]], appears in ''[[Mario Party 2]]''.
