The Daytripper, known as the Royal Racer in British English, is a kart from the Mario Kart series. The vehicle resembles an old-fashioned and decorated horse-drawn coach, with its rear tires larger than the front. The emblem is located on the sides and back of the kart. Its American English name is a reference to the Beatles' song "Day Tripper", and its Spanish name references the lyrics "She was a daytripper, Sunday driver yeah".

The Daytripper first appears in Mario Kart Wii as a medium-sized kart. It can be unlocked by winning the 150cc Leaf Cup or by playing 2,700 races. The kart features great handling along with decent weight, acceleration, off-road, and Mini-Turbo. However, its speed and drifting are below average. It shares the same weight as the Standard Kart M, the same acceleration as the Standard Bike S and the Wario Bike, and the same off-road as the Quacker. However, it is the slowest medium kart in the game and its drifting is the same as the Magikruiser, while its speed and mini-turbo are tied with the Cheep Charger. Its bike counterpart is the Sugarscoot, while its small and large counterparts are the Booster Seat and Offroader respectively. This and the Sugarscoot are the only medium vehicles with a speed stat of less than thirty-five. Its stat total is 323 stat points. It will be able to drift on normal off-road terrain if Yoshi, Birdo, Bowser Jr. or a Mii drives it.
The Daytripper can be unlocked by winning the 150cc Leaf Cup or by playing 2,700 races. It features great handling along with decent weight, acceleration, off-road, and Mini-Turbo. However, its speed and drifting are rather low. It is also noted to be the lightest medium-sized vehicle in the game. It shares the same weight as the Standard Kart M and the same off-road as the Quacker. However, it is the slowest medium kart in the game and its drifting is the same as the Magikruiser.

The Daytripper, along with the Cheep Charger, the Classic Dragster, the Dolphin Dasher and the Honeycoupe, has a color scheme for each character. It is also the only medium kart to use Peach's version for the Mario Kart Channel, Time Trial records, and on the unlocking screen. All other medium vehicles use Mario's versions for these appearances.

The Daytripper returns in Mario Kart Tour, where it is classified as a Super kart. It uses the Wood tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, although footage of the Yoshi's Egg item from the official Mario Kart Tour Twitter account shows it with the Slick tires from the aforementioned games instead. Unlike in Mario Kart Wii, it only has Peach's color scheme no matter what driver is using it, and the lights at the front are no longer shaped like flowers. The Daytripper increases the duration of Dash Panel boosts and the amount of points earned for using Dash Panels.
The Daytripper returns in Mario Kart Tour. It uses the Wood tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (although footage of the Yoshi's Egg item showed it with the Slick tires from the latter two games instead). Unlike before, the Daytripper always uses Peach's color scheme no matter what driver is using it. It is classified as a Super kart. Riding on Dash Panels gives the kart a significantly long speed boost.

The Daytripper also has two variants: a red, white, and pink variant of this kart called the Sweet Daytripper, introduced in the Peach Tour, and a black and gold variant called the Head Honcho, introduced in the Summer Festival Tour. Both variants are classified as High-End karts.

The Daytripper is a regular item in pipes and the shop's Daily Selects set. It has been obtainable through other means as well; below are instances of special availability for the kart listed by tour.

*The Female Mii is the only driver to use white as the primary body color for the Daytripper, while all other characters use white as the secondary body color. However, this is due to that a medium-sized Female Mii's kart color scheme is the inverse of Peach's color scheme for all karts, except for the Super Blooper and Sprinter.
*If Dry Bowser uses the Offroader, its off-road will surpass the Daytripper by one point.
