The Dark Side of the Moon is a secret kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey, and is the greater location of Rabbit Ridge. It is served as the sixteenth kingdom overall in the game. It is reachable once the main game is completed and 250 Power Moons have been obtained. Rabbit Ridge is the home of the Broodals, and is ruled over by Madame Broode. Due to her love of vegetables, many statues of vegetables can be found scattered around the kingdom, primarily turnips. The largest one, however, is a carrot building named Rabbit Ridge Tower.

In Rabbit Ridge Tower, the Broodals challenge Mario to a rematch, and he is able to fight them as many times as he wants. If Mario loses all his health, he respawns outside of Rabbit Ridge Tower. None of the progress through the battles is saved if this occurs. Outside the tower, many generic rabbits wearing top hats can be found; they can be neither spoken with nor captured. No regional coins exist in this kingdom, and as with the Moon Kingdom and Darker Side, Mario experiences lighter gravity. This includes the interior of Rabbit Ridge Tower, but excludes the bonus areas.

Once the player completes the sole objective of the Dark Side, Arrival at Rabbit Ridge!, the Toad Brigade starts exploring this section of the Moon.

Objectives
Power Moons
#Arrival at Rabbit Ridge!: The goal is to defeat the Broodals and RoboBrood on Rabbit Ridge Tower.

There are a total of 24 Power Moons on the Dark Side.
(❸=Multi-Moon)

Power Moons
*01: Arrival at Rabbit Ridge!: ❸ Obtained after defeating all Broodals and RoboBrood at Rabbit Ridge Tower. There is only one heart after defeating the Broodals and before confronting RoboBrood.

*02: Captain Toad on the Dark Side!: Received from Captain Toad after finding him near the top of Rabbit Ridge Tower.
List of Power Moons in the Dark Side
*03: Breakdown Road: Hurry!: Same as Down and Back Breakdown Road from Wooded Kingdom, but without the assistance of Cappy (therefore cannot capture Banzai Bill to return to Power Moons).
There are a total of 26 Power Moons (23 regular Power Moons and 1 Multi Moon) on the Dark Side. When the player first visits this kingdom, they can only collect 2 Power Moons, including the Multi Moon that is collected from defeating the Broodals for the last time. After they defeat them, 12 more Power Moons which are more difficult versions of previous challenges found throughout the other kingdoms will be unlocked as well as 10 pieces of Hint Art. The Dark Side has the most Hint Art out of any kingdom in the game. There are no Moon Rocks to break for Power Moons in this kingdom.
*04: Breakdown Road: Final Challenge!: Same as Below Breakdown Road from Wooded Kingdom, but without Cappy. Therefore, Mario must guide the Banzai Bill underneath the main platform through precise long jumps on a series of single-brick platforms.
*05: Invisible Road: Rush!: Obtained after traversing this secret area and defeating all three Big Poison Piranha Plant at the end without the aid of Cappy.
*06: Invisible Road: Secret!: Found in a treasure chest.
*07: Vanishing Road Rush: Found at the end of a secret area similar to Metro Kingdom's Motor Scooter Daredevil! mission area, which has to be beaten without the aid of motor scooters and Cappy.
*08: Vanishing Road Challenge: Found in the Vanishing Road Rush mission area on a side road. The location is identical to Full-Throttle Scooting!.
*09: Yoshi Under Siege: Obtained after eating ten berries as Yoshi in a secret area similar to Metro Kingdom's Moon Shards Under Siege mission area.
*10: Fruit Feast Under Siege: Obtained after eating 20 berries as Yoshi in the Yoshi Under Siege mission area.
*11: Yoshi on the Sinking Island: Obtained after eating ten berries as Yoshi in a secret area.
*12: Frust Feast on the Sinking Island: Obtained after eating 20 berries as Yoshi in the Yoshi on the Sinking Island mission area
*13: Yoshi's Magma Swamp: Obtained after eating ten berries as Yoshi in a secret area similar to Luncheon Kingdom's Magma Swamp: Floating and Sinking mission area.
*14: Fruit Feast in the Magma Swamp!: Obtained after eating 20 berries as Yoshi in the Yoshi's Magma Swamp mission area.

Trivia
*The Dark Side, and the fact that the Broodals hail from the Moon, is likely a homage to the Japanese, folkloric belief that a rabbit lives on the moon.
*Despite the fact that Madame Broode rules over the Rabbit Ridge, she is never seen here.
*Rosalina makes a cameo appearance as an 8-bit sprite behind one of the statues outside Rabbit Ridge Tower.
*Along with the Cap Kingdom, this kingdom is the only kingdom to contain no 8-bit segments.
