| The Dark-Light Device (also simply known as Dark-Light or Dark Light) is a flashlight tool that appears in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (as well as Luigi's Mansion 2 HD) and Luigi's Mansion 3.

|
| ==History==
| | The Dark Light is an add-on to the Poltergust 5000 that appears in the game Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. When in use, Luigi's flashlight will emit a rainbow-colored light in the direction he is pointing it. |

| |
| In Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, the Dark-Light Device is an add-on to the Poltergust 5000, and it can be used by pressing 3ds in the original 3DS game and switch or switch in the Switch remaster. When Luigi uses the Dark-Light Device, his flashlight instead emits a rainbow-colored light, which allows him to see objects that are hidden in a manner similar to an black light. After shining the Dark-Light Device on these objects, Luigi needs to vacuum the Spirit Balls that are revealed so that the objects can become visible again. However, the Dark-Light Device has an energy gauge represented by a rainbow-colored meter in the top right corner, and if the Dark-Light Device is used for too long, it overheats. A few upgrades to the gauge can be acquired from Professor E. Gadd by collecting treasure and leveling up. The Dark-Light Device can also reveal Polterpup tracks so Luigi can follow them, Boo trails to follow a Boo, and Toads, coins, or gems trapped in paintings. The Dark-Light Device is also usable on ghosts such as Greenies and Sneakers. Sneakers are revealed when hit by the light, while Greenies start to taunt Luigi. The Dark-Light Device is also required to free Mario from his painting. In the ScareScraper, Spirit Balls do not come out of revealed furniture, and if one Luigi has been cursed, other Luigis can use their Dark-Light Devices on him to remove the curse.

| ===Luigi's Mansion 3=== | | ==Uses== |
| In Luigi's Mansion 3, the Dark-Light Device is an add-on to the Poltergust G-00. The Dark-Light Device is used by pressing switch. It is used similarly, but it can now be held indefinitely without overheating, in addition to revealing purple Spirit Balls that possess certain objects.

| | Using this attachment, the player will be able to see objects that have been hidden. After shining the Dark Light on these objects, the player will need to vacuum the Spirit Balls that were revealed in order to make the object visible again. The Dark Light is also used to reveal Polterpup tracks so that the player can follow them, follow Boo trails to find them and for saving Toads trapped in paintings. |
