{{quote|Hungry Piranha Plants! Deep-rooted secrets! Paths that branch off to danger! You'll tangle with all that and more in DK's Treetop Temple! Observe yonder Star! Be the first to reach the Star Space with 20 coins to pocket that prize! The Star Space will then move to a new spot. Maybe closer to you! Or farther! Who can say?! Now witness a legendary jungle contraption: the DK Barrel Cannon! If you pay 5 coins, it'll blast you across the board! Where exactly? Who knows?! And anytime you find Candy lying around, snatch it up! If you can't find some... Head to the nearest Candy Shop and load up on the sweet stuff! What's all the hubbub about Candy? DK's Treetop Temple is a multi-leveled, jungle-themed board in Mario Party 8, and the first board since DK's Jungle Adventure in the first Mario Party themed after Donkey Kong. The shops on this board are run by Spear Guys.

The board features barrel-shaped elevators, a mesh wall, bouncy leaves, a giant statue of Donkey Kong in the middle, and Barrel Cannons scattered throughout. There is also a Lucky Space in front of the DK statue, where it takes the player to a secret path behind the board with a path of Blue Spaces (each with three coins), and a Star at the end. This is the only board in the game that follows all of the traditional conditions of the Mario Party series, where players have to get to the Star Space and trade twenty Coins to get the Star, after which the Star Space would move to another location on the board, and then the process would repeat.

There are two Barrel Cannons on the lower paths of the board. When someone passes one, they have the choice of paying five Coins to be fired sky-high to one of two landing pads. Both cannons can take players to either of the landing pads.

Landing on a DK Space makes Donkey Kong appear. Donkey Kong tosses the player all the way to the Star Space, although they still have to trade 20 coins for it. Landing on a Bowser Space makes Bowser appear and move the Star to a different location.

Landing on the Green Spaces in the middle of the board makes Ukikis appear on barrels to run players that are in their path off course. If it is the Last 5 Turns, coins will disappear if the Ukikis roll over them, but players will pick up any coins they pass while being chased. In the Star Battle Arena, the Ukikis will roll right over characters, causing them to lose ten Coins. Landing on the ? Space near the water slide makes players ride it to the lower part of the board, and to get some quick cash. The three ? Spaces in front of the Piranha Plants makes one of them chew on the player that landed there, resulting in them losing ten Coins. The ? Space in front of Spear Guy platforms makes a Spear Guy appear to take one of the player's candies in exchange for some coins. If the player does not have any candy, the Spear Guy will give them 5 coins.
